Anime Utamiko Episode 02 - YOU’RE BREAKIN’ MAH BAWLS ALIPRO!

Posted on June 27th, 2009 by by Eryn

Today’s episode: musings on the potential of HIMEKA and other artists spawned by the Animax Anison Grand Prix competition, gushing over 20+ year-old children’s animal shows, ranting about ALI Project, and three all new requests (not recycled from the remnants of the old list). Also, Eryn talks way too fast for a good portion of the first half of the show. That’s what happens when one records in a hurry, I guess. Sorry!

UPDATE: Oops, I didn’t see those photos of Catherine St. Onge correctly. I don’t know which restaurant she worked at, but it looks like it wasn’t McDonald’s.

Songs played today:

  • Bleeding Edge: “Asu e no Kizuna” by HIMEKA (Valkyria Chronicles)
  • Scar Tissue: “Stardust Boys” by Hironobu Kageyama (Uchuusen Sagittarius)
  • Eryn’s Pick: “Peony Pink” by ALI Project (CLAMP School Detectives)
  • Request Flow #1: “Kao Dekaai” by FUNTA (Dr. Slump) *requested by cielmort!
  • Request Flow #2: “Hikari no Rock” by Sambomaster (Bleach: The DiamondDust Rebellion - Mou Hitotsu no Hyouinmaru [Movie 2]) *requested by SexySesshyLover!
  • Request Flow #3: “A Little Pain” by OLIVIA inspi’ REIRA [TRAPNEST] (NANA) *requested by sakuraslight/John Astle!

Song clips used:

  • “Violence of the Flame” by Hironobu Kageyama (M.D. Geist)
  • “Rara Shinseiki Eve” by ALI Project (Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo)
  • “Otome no Inori” by ALI Project
  • “Fukai Mori” by ALI Project
  • “Wish” by ALI Project (Wish music video)

Anime Utamiko Episode 01 - The Day the Music Came Back

Posted on June 12th, 2009 by by Eryn

Welcome one and all to the first episode of Anime Utamiko, the soon-to-be number one anime music podcast on the internet! Why Utamiko instead of Utahime? Because the old podcast was officially put to rest ages ago, and because I wanted to tie this new one in to the domain name. Also because I like saying “miko” more than “hime.” So there.

Songs played today:

I would call this is a rise from the ashes, but Anime Utahime already rose from the ashes more than a few times in its day, so I won’t. I suppose I’ll call this more of an experiment, then. You all wanted the anime music back. I wanted the anime music back. So let’s try this again and see if I can get the ball rolling.

I won’t promise anything long-term yet, because you all know I’m bad at making those sorts of podcast promises, especially when I have a lot on my internet plate already. However, I’d like to try anyway, just because I miss the hell out of talking to the internet about anime music. So long as I stay amateur, don’t set off to make a cent from of this project, and always link to places where you can buy the music played, hopefully that’ll keep us out of trouble. Cross your fingers, guys!

We’re Not Dead Yet!

Posted on January 28th, 2009 by by Eryn

So sorry for the lack of updates the past few months, guys! I kept thinking for the longest time that I had posted a news update about this, but I guess I didn’t. My bad. D:

For once, the lack of updates has not been due to laziness or bad schedules. The simple fact of the matter is that Iggy’s new puppy, while sweet and adorable and OH SO WUVVABLE, has a thing for headset cords, apparently. Goodbye, Iggy’s headset. We mourn for thee. It’s only been within the last week that we’ve finally been able to secure a new one, and that means the recordings can start up again soon. Expect a new episode sometime within the next month or so.

Sorry again for the delay!

The highly anticipated part B to Robomiko episode 4 has arrived, and hopefully with better editing (I didn’t edit it while half-asleep this time!). :D

Robomiko Episode 04A - I Love Dick (Grayson)

Posted on October 28th, 2008 by by Eryn

A thousand-thousand apologies to all our listeners (yes, all three of you)! As we explain in this brand new half-an-episode-and-yet-still-the-length-of-a-full-episode, the main reasons this has taken so long to come out are 1) Eryn’s work schedule has been bad in terms of compatibility with Iggy’s schedule lately, and 2) Iggy was sick for a while and her voice was in no condition to be heard on the internet. But fear not, for Eryn is in the market for a new job and Iggy is no longer sick, so (hopefully), that means more episodes are on the horizon in the very near future!

The recording for episode 4 went on so long that we had to split it into two parts. The first you can listen to now, and the second will be up in a day or two so that your readers/podcatchers have time to download this part first.

In this half of the episode, it’s all news, news, news, some of which is relatively old. Give us a break: we haven’t podcasted in about two months. :P

UBER NEWS
- Toonami is Dead
- Stargate: Atlantis Cancelled
- “The Graysons” is Not a Good Idea (Related comic from Shortpacked!)
- Pressure Campaign to Reveal UFO Infomation

We hope you’ll be looking forward to Robomiko Episode 04B, in which Eryn will review the anime series Baccano! and Iggy will review the kung-fu movie The Forbidden Kingdom!

Sorry About the Delay, Folks

Posted on September 19th, 2008 by by Eryn

The next episode of Robomiko will take some time coming out. It was first delayed due to RL scheduling conflicts, and then again due to poor planning on my (Eryn’s) part. Here’s hoping for recording this week. *crosses fingers*

EDIT: Nope, guess not. Sorry, guys. Iggy’s got a cold. We’ll have to wait at least another week. Be sure to wish her a speedy recovery in the forum! <3

Robomiko Episode 03 - Needs More Kevin Conroy

Posted on August 16th, 2008 by by Eryn

Sorry that this episode of Robomiko is so late, guys. This was entirely my bad. I procrastinated for no good reason. I guess I was tired from work for a while, but that can’t excuse me for two weeks. Also, Iggy tried to help, but was unable due to technical issues on my end. So, don’t blame her for this. I promise that the next episode will be edited much more swiftly.

Anyway, we attempt to switch up the format of the podcast today to see if it works better than our first format! What do you think? Is this better? Should we change it back? Do you have any ideas for a better format? Let us know in our forum at http://robomiko.com/forum.

For our review today…

Robomiko Episode 02 - Underwater Ray Romano

Posted on July 15th, 2008 by by Eryn

Before you ask: no, this episode of Robomiko has nothing to do with Utawarerumono. This episode has a lot more to do with us being a little bit tired (and thus slightly off our rockers) than anything else.

In today’s Mixed Bag of Segments, we have…
Eryn’s Segment - Geek News: Funimation is Awesome
Iggy’s Segment - Miniview/Shameless Plug: Doctor Who and Torchwood

And for our reviews, we have…

Iggy’s Review - Movie: Hellboy II: The Golden Army
Eryn’s Review - Comic: Mouse Guard: Fall 1152

Our Music of the Moment today was “Håll Om Mig” by Nanne Gronvall (the Princess Tutu AMV featuring this song can be found here, but beware of major spoilers!), and “Crossroads” by Cream. Our other miscellaneous plugs were for the websites Passive-Aggressive Notes and Jeff Russell’s Starship Dimensions. And I suppose we kind of plugged the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo all the way through the show. How ’bout that? Aheheheheh…

Robomiko Episode 01 - Of Ducks and Batmen (and Llamas)

Posted on July 1st, 2008 by by Eryn

Finally, the debut episode of Robomiko appears! Technically it’s still June, too! …Okay, just in Alaska and Hawaii, but still. IT COUNTS.

We’re starting things off a little shaky and disjointed, but hopefully you’ll all forgive us for that. First episodes are always nowhere near as good as later episodes, right? ;)

In today’s Mixed Bag of Segments, we have…
Eryn’s Segment - Cool Internet Stuff: Skeptoid and Here Be Dragons
Iggy’s Segment - Geek News: New info on the upcoming movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

And for our reviews, we have…

Eryn’s Review - Anime: Princess Tutu
Iggy’s Review - Cartoon: Batman Beyond

Our Music of the Moment today was “I’ve Just Seen A Face (Yume no Hito)” by Kuricorder Quartet, and the DuckTales theme by Mark Mueller. Our other miscellaneous plugs were the webcomics Joe Loves Crappy Movies and Awkward Zombie.

SPECIAL BONUS CONTENT! A ten-minute preview of our upcoming full-length commentary of the Transformers movie! Head on over to our bonus content page to download.

It’s comin’, it’s comin’…

Something to assure the masses that their waiting has not all been in vain. Comes with 40% new content, 5% of which doesn’t consist of a speech bot!

Robomiko Teaser Trailer: http://robomiko.com/audio/teaser.mp3

This is to assure people that at maximum, the podcast will kick off before the end of June. More likely, it’ll get started within the next two weeks. And if we’re not good on that promise… blame Iggy! I have a brother and mother and father and two dogs! I have so much to live for! Please take her instead! D:
